Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1. Which models and years is the K-SPEED RB0029 exhaust compatible with?
A. It is compatible with all Honda Rebel (CMX) 500 models from 2017 onwards. Please note that it is not compatible with the Rebel 250 or Rebel 1100 due to differences in exhaust pipe diameter and mounting points.
Q2. Can it be installed on a Rebel 250?
A. No. While the RB0029 can physically be mounted on a Rebel 250 (2024 and older models), it lacks a silencer, which will result in very loud noise levels. On the 500, the catalytic converter located under the bike handles the muffling.
Q3. Can I install it myself (DIY)? Do I need professional expertise?
A. Since it is a slip-on type that involves removing and replacing the stock exhaust, installation is possible if you have basic tools and mechanical knowledge. However, as it requires checking exhaust gaskets and precise torque management, we recommend having it installed by a motorcycle shop or custom specialist if you are uncertain.
Q4. Is an ECU fuel remapping necessary when replacing the exhaust?
A. In principle, you can install and ride with the factory fuel settings. However, because changing to a slip-on exhaust alters exhaust efficiency, we recommend performing an ECU fuel map adjustment if you desire smoother acceleration or a reduction in afterfire.
